ACTIVITIES RELATED TO PRESERVING THE GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT

Corporate Office & Sales Office Activities	:	-	Reduction of fuel consumption by continuously maintaining company vehicles and by eliminating idling during parking

Kashiwazaki Region	:	-	Systematic prioritization of environmental conservation when developing and introducing new equipment
		-	Observance of intra-company noise standards
		-	Control of cupola furnace soot and dust
		-	Promotion of tree planting at plants
		-	Elimination of chlorine based organic solvents

Kumagaya Region	:	-	Comprehensive monitoring of specific plant equipment stipulated by law (dust collectors, etc.)
		-	Reduction of underground water use
		-	Promotion of tree planting at plants

Kashiwazaki Region	:	-	Development of piston rings that help the environment by reducing engine oil consumption & blowby gases and improving fuel economy through reduced friction
		-	Development of light-weight castings that help reduce fuel consumption
		-	Development of low friction engine and auxiliary parts that will result in higher energy savings

Kumagaya Region	:	-	Development of advanced exhaust valve seat inserts for gasoline engines
		-	Substitution of recyclable resins for PVC resin used on corrosion-proof pipefittings
		-	Development of NOx sensors to comply with new automotive and truck exhaust regulations
